Class Schedule Changes + Upcoming Ashtanga Focus

Join us for R.E.S.T. Yoga, starting next week!

Effective next Thursday, September 28th, we will be adding an evening class in Higgins Lake with Patty Clark, which will meet from 5:30pm to 6:30pm every Thursday. The class is called R.E.S.T Yoga, and stands for Relax, Explore, Surrender, and Transform.

R.E.S.T Yoga is a fun and gentle practice, perfect for beginners or anyone in need of a good stress relief. While exploring conscious movement and breath, you will not only improve overall strength and flexibility but also calm the mind attuning it to the inner light of awareness. Surrender to your breath and allow your heart to radiate with truth and love. Move freely from a place of compassion and acceptance to create more peace and ease within in your practice and daily life. Rest your mind, rejuvenate your body and restore balance while feeling energized and transformed! This class will move at a mellower pace than other Stone Turtle Yoga classes, and will frequently use wall space and other props for enhanced support and relaxation.

Also, as we move forward into fall, we will be canceling a two classes at our Higgins Lake location:

Effective this Saturday, September 23rd:
Saturday Hatha Yoga in Higgins Lake at 8:45am with Mariah: Cancelled
Thursday Hatha Yoga in Higgins Lake at 9:30am with Mariah: Cancelled

Stay tuned for our upcoming Ashtanga focus during our regularly scheduled classes!

Based on questions from various students, including: What are the roots of yoga? How can I be more certain of my alignment? I want to dig deeper in philosophy? We have decided to introduce Ashtanga yoga as a theme during our regularly scheduled classes. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will present the 8 limbs of yoga. Each succeeding week we will focus on one Yama then moving into Niyamas as a philosophy/intention. Each Sunday we will send out a blog post describing the intention for the upcoming week.

Thank you to Patty Clark for this inspired idea! Keep an eye on your email this Sunday for a post about this coming week’s intention.

Thanks and Namaste!

-Mariah, Patty, Amy, & Dianne
