Why take Yoga 101?

New to Yoga
As a beginner, it can be highly beneficial to start with an immersive yoga experience like our Yoga 101 Series; you’ll learn the foundational poses, breathing practices, and some history and philosophy, all in a small group setting with an experienced teacher.

Overall Health
Yoga promotes physical health by improving flexibility, strength, range of motion, and balance. And it doesn’t stop there; the mental benefits of yoga include stress- and anxiety-relief, ability to focus, and a greater sense of calm and well-being. Many practitioners also report an increase in energy!

Continued Learning
Regular, or on-and-off yoga practitioners can use this series to deepen their understanding of the foundations of yoga, enrich their current practice, or kick-start their return to a regular yoga practice.

There are so many reasons to join us for our Yoga 101 Series! Your attendance is encouraged at this interactive, in-depth series.

Yoga 101 presents a doorway into the vast benefits that yoga can provide. These benefits are for everyone, regardless of age or physical limitations. My mission is to make yoga accessible and effective for anyone who is willing to try, and to meet my students where they are, today. March Newsletter: Free Community Class, Yoga 101 Series, and more!

Greetings, Dear Ones!

March has arrived. Birds are chirping, and the still snowy landscape of northern Michigan is being illuminated by clear blue skies and abundant sun. New life is beginning to show itself, with baby squirrels, fawns, and other youngsters of Nature moving about in the warmer air. The sap is running, and while spring has not officially sprung, we are getting an early taste of it.

What to do with this spring energy come early? Some of us (myself included), are not quite ready for the ice to thaw just yet. I need a little more time to hibernate, to dwell in the quiet, cold vastness of winter, and let the north winds clear away the inner dead things that must go. Some of us, though, have felt the deadness for long enough, and are ready for spring! If that’s you, rejoice and let the sun warm you. If you seek more time for your inner space to be emptied, know that you are not alone, and that you still have time. How beautiful that all of us can find contentment with this time of year, ripe with the unmanifest, and full of possibility!
